Activity details

Ghiță posted a trip — three days in Retezat, two nights at Cabana Pietrele, summit Peleaga on day two. Six people are already in. There are eight seats across two cars, with one seat free. Andrei taps the card on Discover and lands on the activity details page. From here he'll figure out whether to join.

This is the most-loaded screen in the app. Almost everything you do about an activity starts here.

What's on the page

Top to bottom, the page shows:

  1. Header — title, hero image, organizer name and avatar, a View profile link if you want to see who they are.
  2. At-a-glance card — date and time, meeting point name, capacity vs participants, minimum-participants threshold, the difficulty on a 1–6 scale.
  3. Action card — the contextual actions (join, share, bookmark, open messages, open transport, open equipment) — see below.
  4. Description — what the organizer wrote about the trip.
  5. Schedule — for multi-day trips, this expands into per-day segments with their own times and meeting points.
  6. Costs — transport, equipment/rental, other. See Costs and financial summary for the full picture.
  7. Comments — public discussion attached to the trip. See Comments.
  8. Reviews — visible after the activity is completed. See Reviews.
  9. Weather — a forecast card appears when the date is close enough to be in the real forecast window.

The action card

Right under the organizer line. The exact buttons depend on whether you're signed in, whether you've joined, and whether you're the organizer or a driver:

  • Join / Leave / Cancel my participation — see Participation for the join flow.
  • Add to calendar — exports an .ics to your device calendar.
  • Messages — opens the per-activity discussion thread. See Messages.
  • Transport — opens the transport board for this activity (offers, seats, pickup points). See Transport.
  • Equipment — opens the equipment board (required, declared, offered). See Equipment.
  • Share — copy a short link, open the native share sheet, or show a QR code. See Sharing and invites.
  • Bookmark — save the activity to Profile > Saved. See Favorites.
  • Live tracking (during the activity) — share your position with the rest of the participants. See Live tracking.

If you're the organizer, you'll also see Edit, Cancel activity, and (after the activity ends) Mark completed.

Multi-day activities

When isMultiDay is set, the schedule section expands into per-day cards: "Day 1 — Cabana Buta", "Day 2 — Vârful Peleaga", "Day 3 — Retezat Mic". Each day can have its own departure time and meeting point. You can join the whole trip or only the days that work for you — the join sheet shows checkboxes per day.

If a participant joins only days 2 and 3, they appear in the participant list only for those days. The transport board, equipment board, and per-activity thread all behave accordingly.

Capacity, waitlist, and approval

Activities have three settings that affect the join flow:

  • Capacity — the maximum number of approved participants. When capacity is reached, new joiners go to the waitlist.
  • Approval required — if on, the organizer manually approves each request. If off, joining is immediate.
  • Minimum participants — the activity won't run unless at least this many people are approved by the decision deadline. If too few, the activity transitions to notFormed and everyone is notified.

The action card's primary button changes its label based on these: Join, Request to join, Join waitlist, or Already joined — leave.

Difficulty 1–6

The 1–6 scale is the canonical Terranos difficulty:

LevelRoughly
1Easy walk, paved or wide trails, no elevation surprises
2Moderate hike, marked trails, some elevation
3Long day or mid-elevation, requires basic fitness
4Demanding, exposed sections, requires experience
5Technical, alpine terrain, possibly via ferrata or scrambling
6Expert, expedition-grade, mountaineering experience required

The organizer picks the level. It's not a substitute for reading the description — but it filters out trips that are obviously wrong for your shape on a given day.

Cancellation and refunds

If the organizer cancels the activity, all participants are notified. Cost reconciliation (if any cash already changed hands) is between organizer and participants — Terranos doesn't move money. See Costs and financial summary.

If you cancel your own participation, the organizer is notified and the first person on the waitlist (if any) is offered your spot.

When something looks off

  • Action card shows "Sign in to join". You're a guest — see Account and login.
  • Capacity shows X/Y but Y looks wrong. Multi-day trips count capacity per day. The header number is the capacity for the day you have selected; tap a different day to see its capacity.
  • Costs section is empty. The organizer hasn't filled costs in yet, or this is a free activity. Either is normal.
  • Weather card never appears. The forecast window is roughly 7–10 days. Trips further out show the card only once the window opens.
  • An option you expect (e.g., Share) is missing. The organizer might have published with sharing disabled. That's unusual but legal.
