Discover
Friday afternoon. Ana opens Terranos to see what's on this weekend. She scrolls through the upcoming activities — a Făgăraș traverse that's already full, a moderate hike in Piatra Craiului with three seats left in someone's car, a beginner trip to Apuseni she'll send to her cousin who's just starting out.
Discover is the front door. Everything that's happening, sorted toward what's most useful right now.
What you see
Each activity shows up as a card with the same shape: title, organizer, date, the meeting area on the map, the difficulty (1–6), participant count vs capacity, and a short transport summary. Tap any card to open the full activity details.
Cards include small visual hints:
- A bookmark icon — tap to save without leaving the list (see Favorites).
- A "few seats" badge when capacity is almost full.
- A "starts soon" badge when the activity is within a few days.
- A subtle border style for activities you've already joined.
Sorting and filtering
The default sort is soonest first, with past activities tucked at the bottom in a collapsed section.
You can change the sort to:
- Date — soonest (default)
- Date — latest
- Most participants
- Most free spots
- Title A–Z
You can filter by:
- Type — hiking, ridge, trail run, cycling, camping, winter, family
- Difficulty — slider from 1 to 6
- Date range — open a calendar and pick start/end
- Region — pick a Romanian county or one of the predefined zones (Bucegi, Făgăraș, Retezat, Piatra Craiului, Apuseni, Ceahlău, Cheile Bicazului, others)
- Free seats only — hide activities that are full
The filter chips show on top of the list. Tap any active chip to drop that filter quickly.
Searching the list
The search bar at the top accepts:
- words from the activity title
- words from the description
- a place name (works even without diacritics — typing
fagarasmatchesFăgăraș) - an organizer's name
- a tag
For full-text search across all activities — including ones that aren't in the current filter — go to Search. It's the same query language but with more granular ranking and a dedicated results screen.
What guests see
Guests see the same list, but only the public-safe parts of each card. Participant identities are hidden, and tapping into an activity opens the public version of the page (no chat, no participant list, no operational tools).
If you're a guest looking at this and thinking "I want to know who's going" — that's the moment to make an account. See Account and login.
Offline and slow networks
Discover reads from a local cache when the network is slow or out. You'll see whatever the app last loaded online, with a small "offline" hint at the top. New activities appear as soon as connectivity comes back.
If the cache is empty (you've never opened the list online), the screen shows a quiet placeholder until the first sync completes.
When something looks off
- Empty list with no filters set. Either there genuinely are no upcoming activities in your defaults, or the cache hasn't synced yet. Pull to refresh.
- A friend's activity isn't showing up. It might still be a draft. Drafts only appear in their organizer's view until published.
- An activity disappears from the list after you join it. Check the Joined filter or open
Profile > SavedandParticipationto find it. By default joined activities stay in Discover too — but a date filter can hide them if the activity is in the past.
